THEATRE COMPANY'S TALE OF MYSTERY

A PLAY written by a recently formed theatre company is coming to Burton.
Utopian Artists Ltd, formed by Willington's Robert Scott and Swadlincote's Luci Fitzpatrick, are to showcase The Truth of a Lie at Burton's Brewhouse arts centre, in Union Street.The story is set in present day Britain where Alex Cain, played by Paul Syrstad, wakes up to find his ex-girlfriend Candice murdered on the floor. His shirt has blood on it and he has a gun in his hand with no memory of the night.

Startled by the arrival of the police, he runs, resulting in him shooting detective inspector Stanley Watkins, played by Saul Matlock, in the leg. The show is aimed at leaving the audience unsure of whether Alex killed his ex partner.The Truth Of A Lie runs at 8pm from February 20 to February 23. There will also be a showing on Saturday, February 23 at 3pm. Tickets are £7 for adults and £6 for concessions, and are available by telephoning the box office at the Brewhouse on 01283 508100.
