A man has killed his ex-
girlfriend … or has he?
The story is set in present day Britain where Alex Cain wakes up to find his ex-girlfriend Candice murdered on the floor. His shirt has blood on it and he has a gun in his hand with no memory of the night. Did he kill her? Startled by the arrival of the police, he runs and this eventually results in him shooting a police officer in the leg. Now he knows he has no chance clearing his name.
Two years pass and Alex is
still haunted by what happened that to his girlfriend and the wounding of the
police officer. If he could shoot a policeman is he capable of shooting his
girlfriend in a fit of rage?
He is taken in by a shady character called Mr Glenn a man who harbours wanted criminals from the police in return of their undying loyalty to him. Mr Glenn sends Alex on " a job" ... a simple theft in the local art gallery. But as fate would have it, he arrives only to find the policeman he shot two years ago is working as a security guard at the gallery. Alex runs but it is too late, the doors are locked.
The policeman states “I've got the key ... and I've got all night.”
He quietly asks the words he has longed to say for years … “Did you kill her?”
The show gathers evidence throughout for and against Alex Cain . This dramatic and action packed play has twist and turns throughout leaving the audience unsure what is the truth of the matter. Was he framed, self defence or does Alex Cain remember more about that night than he is letting on …?
