The New Theatre Company Created by Robert Scott and Luci Fitzpatrick.
Company Number 6377857 England And Wales
In
2006 Robert Scott was starting out as a composer. His previous shows had already
had some success but Robert Scott wanted to push the boundaries a little more.
He wrote a musical screenplay and called “Dolterris”
- the idea was to turn this into a low budgeted film to help promote
himself and the cast alike. The local paper, The Burton Mail picked up on
this and helped Robert find a cast. Luci
Fitzpatrick was one of the first people to see the article and sent an audition
form that very night.
Luci and Robert met on 16th December at her audition. Robert instantly saw a raw talent within Luci that he longed to work with and by the end of "Dolterris" in May 2007, Robert was writing “The Truth Of A Lie”. After only two scenes were written, Robert approached Luci to direct the show. Luci instantly agreed. Later Robert was quoted saying “If Luci had turned the show down, the show would have never gone ahead!”
It
was clear from the start of the “The Truth Of A Lie” that the pair
both had a similar approach to the theatre as they formed a positive working
relationship. In the months leading up to the auditions the pair were
already talking about collaborating in other shows and by September 2007, they
had formed the company UTOPIAN ARTISTS LTD. The
Company announced in it's first announcement that they would be writing,
directing and producing their first west-end show MOONLIT SKY - to be
performed as a one-off special on 27th July 2008.
